CONTACT and STACKIT announce partnership for sovereign Cloud PLM
The cloud provider STACKIT stores data in European data centers in full compliance with the GDPR. CONTACT’s customers therefore benefit from complete sovereignty over the data in their digital thread.
CONTACT Software and STACKIT, the cloud provider of Schwarz Digits, have entered into a strategic partnership. The combination of CONTACT CIM Database Cloud and the STACKIT Cloud creates a ready-to-use PLM solution that effectively protects sensitive business data. Companies, particularly those with high compliance and data protection requirements, benefit from digital sovereignty, transparent data processing, and comprehensive access and rights control.
STACKIT stores and processes data in European data centers and in compliance with GDPR regulations. Since the company is headquartered in Germany, it ensures that data is protected from unauthorized access by third countries, including access enforced through legal instruments.
This partnership creates a PLM solution that meets the highest data security standards. With integrated AI support, CIM Database Cloud connects and accelerates all phases of product development, from concept to market launch. Organizations can get started quickly and scale the system flexibly while keeping investment costs and IT overhead low.
CIM Database Cloud is available on the STACKIT Marketplace, the platform for third-party solutions within the STACKIT Cloud. This makes CONTACT the first PLM provider on this portal. The STACKIT infrastructure also lays the foundation to host other CONTACT solutions for the digital thread – such as tools for connecting and analyzing IoT data – in a secure and sovereign cloud environment.
CONTACT and STACKIT share a common commitment to openness and digital sovereignty. Both partners rely on open-source technologies to avoid vendor lock-in and are actively involved in the GAIA-X project. This initiative aims to build a digital infrastructure consisting of interconnected data spaces that allow companies to securely exchange data.
