It is becoming increasingly difficult for industry to plan with stable sales and sufficient liquidity. Digitization and the Internet of Things (IoT) enable companies to tap new business potential by changing the billing model from product sales to service business. This article shows how machine and plant manufacturers can use pay-per-use models to optimize their cash flow in the long term, generate additional business through complementary digital services and minimize risks for their customers.
