ZLT Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik GmbH & Co. KG (ZLT), based in Friedrichshafen, is the world's sole manufacturer of the Zeppelin NT. The 75-meter-long, semi-rigid airships are built with cutting-edge technology and produced in series with consistent specifications. ZLT must extensively document technical modifications, such as the replacement or installation of new components, as part of the airworthiness certification process. To make this process more efficient, the airship manufacturer replaced its keytech product data management system with the PLM solution CIM Database and the project management software Project Office. Key benefits of the new, integrated system include accelerated release processes and the automated documentation of changes.
