MANN+HUMMEL strengthens sustainable Life Sciences division with CIM Database Cloud

Filtration expert MANN+HUMMEL is now accelerating its digital transformation of its Life Sciences and Environment units with CIM Database Cloud.

MANN+HUMMEL has been successfully using CONTACT Software's PLM solution CIM Database for over 25 years to develop its filtration solutions for the mobility sector. To further strengthen its Life Sciences and Environment division and leverage shared development resources, the company is now implementing CIM Database Cloud for the development of air and water filtration solutions. MANN+HUMMEL aims to specifically focus on membrane and smart filtration solutions, which are a critical pillar of the company’s sustainability strategy.

CIM Database Cloud is ideally suited to support the significant growth in this sector. The PaaS solution can be rapidly deployed enterprise-wide, seamlessly integrates into existing processes, and requires minimal additional resources. Beyond its standard features, the cloud solution also offers customizable configuration options. Interfaces with tools such as SAP ensure data consistency across system boundaries.

The rollout for approximately 70 users will be carried out in two phases across both the Life Sciences and Environment business units. MANN+HUMMEL will significantly benefit from its existing internal expertise with CIM Database. Thanks to comprehensive project management and the integrated xBOM Manager for bills of materials (BOMs), no additional third-party applications are needed. The PLM system will serve as a central hub with cross-departmental access.

“The decision to implement CIM Database Cloud for our Life Sciences and Environment divisions was a logical step to rapidly and efficiently expand our market position in additional segments,” says Nico Woditsch, Director PMO Global LS&E at MANN+HUMMEL. “Simultaneously, the cloud solution helps us harmonize and optimize our global development processes.” Looking ahead, MANN+HUMMEL is evaluating whether the test management integrated into CONTACT Elements offers a powerful and efficient option for the Life Sciences division compared to the tool currently utilized in the Transportation division.
