CONTACT Software is a new member of the CLPA

CONTACT is the first software company with a focus on IoT to become active in the international CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA). With CONTACT Elements for IoT, the company provides an end-to-end IoT solution for the realisation of smart factories that supports the holistic approach of the CLPA.

The CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) thrives on the diversity and expertise of its member companies. With CONTACT Software, the organisation, which consists of almost 4,000 companies, is being expanded for the first time in the area of IoT. The Elements for IoT platform closes the gap between OT and IT data through Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) enabled convergence and thus enables OT data to be bundled centrally in the IT layer. This makes it possible to build end-to-end systems, create a digital twin and realise the "smart factory".

The CLPA has been in existence since 2000 as an open organisation for industrial CC-Link networks for automation and today promotes the worldwide acceptance of TSN with the latest network CC-Link IE TSN. The CLPA specifies, certifies and promotes its CC-Link communication technologies. These are fully open industrial networks for automation, offering economy, flexibility, determinism, performance and ease of use. More and more companies from all over the world are joining the CLPA to communicate about the CC-Link protocol families and to enrich projects with their technical expertise.

"I am pleased to welcome CONTACT as the first software company with a focus on IoT in our organisation. With their Elements for IoT platform, OT communication data converges with the IT layer via the CC-Link IE TSN network. This advantage enables end customers and machine builders to bundle important process-relevant data in one central location. The IoT platform is particularly well suited for mapping the digital twin", says Christoph Behler, Manager Business Development of CLPA.

With Elements for IoT, CONTACT Software now provides an integrated platform in the CLPA that simplifies the interaction of components from CC-Link, Edge and IoT solutions. For example, components can be recorded, evaluated and parameterised beyond the gateway, or real-time scenarios can be defined and implemented automatically.
