Eclipse IoT Challenge: More than 70 teams enter the race

In the fourth Eclipse IOT Challenge, the race for the best open IoT solution has begun. CONTACT Software is part of the jury, which will select the three winning teams from the more than 70 submitted projects in March 2018.

The Eclipse IoT Challenge 4.0, which is supported by CONTACT Software, enters the decisive phase with a novelty. Instead of a Top 10, the jury has selected twelve promising projects from the competition entries this year. Their initiators receive a Starter Kit and are accompanied by the Eclipse IoT Working Group in the technical implementation of their solution.

More than 70 teams have submitted proposals and are now in the race to win the Open IoT Challenge 4.0. All participants will have four months to realize their ideas and show how innovative IoT solutions can be built with open source and standards.

The Eclipse jury assesses the projects according to their suitability for use in specific industries (for example Smart Cities, Industry 4.0, Remote Health, Agriculture). "After reviewing the entries, it is clear to us that the competition will lead to interesting new IoT applications," says Frank Patz-Brockmann, head of development at CONTACT Software.

On the Open IoT Challenge 4.0 website, interested parties can find out more about this year's Top 12 projects and follow the teams´ solution finding here or via @EclipseIOT and #OpenIoTChallenge on Twitter.
